Installation Recommendations for Lineage
SURFACE REQUIREMENTS & PREPARATION
Acceptable substrate surfaces;
- Fully cured concrete
- Wood underlayment such as APA Underlayment grade plywood(minimum 1/4" thickness) is the preferred underlayment.
- Exterior grade plywood (Group 1 CC type)
- Vinyl composition tile (limited to one layer) and stripped of any waxes, and fully bonded.
- Properly leveled embossed sheet goods that are securely bonded and fully
- Cement terrazzo or Ceramic Tile that has been leveled and the surface properly prepared such as lightly sanded and deglossed.
- Bared steel, aluminum
- Non-porous surfaces (consult with Seasons Flooring supplier for additional information)
Non-Acceptable surfaces
- Presswood
- Chipboard, flakeboard, particleboard
- Gypsum-based toppings, leveling and patching compounds as exclusions.
General surface recommendations
- Supporting surfaces shall be clean and free of dust, oil, grease, tar, or other loose substance that may prevent or reduce adhesion
- Test concrete slabs for excess moisture. Should not exceed 3 lbs. Per 1000 sq ft per 24 hours as measured by anhydrous calcium chloride test
Job Site Conditions-Do not use on substrate temperature below 65 degrees F 24 hours prior to and for 48 hours after the installation
Sub floor must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, oil, tar, or other loose substance that may prevent or reduce adhesion between flooring and sub floor.
Test concrete slabs for excess moisture. Should not exceed 3lbs per 1000 sq ft per 24 hours as measured by anhydrous calcium chloride test.
Asphalt paving must be sufficiently pressure washed to remove surfactants and other bond inhibiting agents.
Sealers used on Cement and outdoor Paver Brick must be fully cured.
Sub floor must be level and free of cracks.
Trowel Size- 1/16" x 1/16" x 1/16" U or square notched trowel (175-200 sq ft per gal.)
Nap Roller or Spray Application- caution must be exercised to maintain adequate adhesive coverage of 175-225 sq ft / gal
Application- DMI 241 is a pressure sensitive adhesive specifically formulated for the installation of PVC modular tiles. When dry it remains tacky for extended period, allowing installed tiles to be picked up and replaced several times without affecting the adhesive.
Apply adhesive full coverage or can be applied in a grid line pattern. Grid line coverage requires that all edges of every tile be positioned into the spread adhesive. Adhesive grid lines should be the width of a standard paint roller, or approximately 12".
Allow adhesive to dry clear and tacky to the touch before placement of tile. High humidity and low temperatures will effect drying time. Properly dried adhesive will not transfer to the fingers when touched.
Installation: use industry standard techniques for placement of modular tile
Clean-up: remove wet adhesive with cloth dampened in tap water. Use adhesive cleaning solvent for dried adhesive.
